ART STUDIO

AN ARTIST'S WORKSPACE....

Art/architectural studio made with locally available natural material. Studio walls are made with various bonds of exposed clay brickwork.

A Jaali wall acts as a transition between built and the open areas.

Locally available water reed is used as thatch for the roof which  is cost effective as well. This inclined thatch combined with bamboo keeps the space cool in summers.

Stone flooring and wooden door windows adds to the rustic ambience of the whole space.

Front side of the East facing studio is emphasized by the Courtyard. Courtyard has a constant shadow all along the day as this courtyard is open to East and the North directions.

All activities are performed here in this courtyard which is open to sky.

EARTHEN ABODE

A BUNGLOW DESIGN....

The east-facing home is designed to embrace natural light, with large openings on the north side that offer stunning views of the hills. A spacious door in the living room opens onto a terrace, seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor spaces.

At the entrance lobby, inverted pots have been creatively repurposed as hanging lamps, adding a rustic charm. This lobby leads into the dining area, where walls are adorned with floral-patterned paintings that enhance the artistic appeal.

Arches have been thoughtfully incorporated to create a fusion of traditional and modern aesthetics. Greenery is an integral part of the design, with planters placed throughout the house to maintain a strong connection with nature.

.

The bungalow follows an earthy palette with minimal use of artificial materials. Natural elements such as cane, teak wood, and other sustainable materials create a warm and organic ambiance.

FARMHOUSE

A CLIMATE RESPONSIVE DWELLING....
